What is "Pass Plus"?
The Problem.
Drivers aged between 17 and 21 make up 10% of all licence holders but are involved in 20% of all injury accidents.
A young male driver is 7 times more likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than a middle aged man.
Every year 1000 people die in road accidents involving a young driver.
Most drivers become safer by driving more miles - by experiencing more driving situations. But it is not enough just to let new drivers learn by experience. Too often they learn the hard way.
The Answer.
There is no substitute for experience, but good professional training can accelerate the acquisition, of skills and knowledge by the new driver.
PASS PLUS offers new drivers professional instruction and supervision in circumstances where they will have little experience and at a time when they are most vulnerable.
Its primary aim is to develop the attitudes and skills that are essential for safe driving and to promote a "positive" rather than "aggresive" driving attitude!
The course is made up of 6 "Modules" designed by the DSA to accelerate the process of gaining on road experience and NO EXTRA TEST is required to complete the course.
The Modules are 1. Introduction and Town Driving.
2. All Weather Driving.
3. Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads.
4. Night Driving.
5. Dual Carriageway Driving.
6. Motorway Driving.
The six "modules" must last a minimum of 6 Hours, 5 of which must be practical in-car sessions.
After completing "Pass Plus" your instructor sends the completed documents to the DSA at Nottingham and a certificate is then issued. Producing this certificate to many insurance companies will result in a large saving on premiums.
In-Tuition can offer you a "Pass Plus" course from around £132.
